Since Albert Messmer made the first of the brand's football cleats in Germany in 1923, Hummel shoes and trainers have had an inextricable link with sport at the highest level. Following a shift of company ownership to Denmark in the early 80s, Hummel shoes and trainers began sponsorship of the Danish national football team as well as making the kit for countless other teams worldwide, scooping up international design awards along the way.
