The new type of wheel was created by George Powell who had studied engineering at Stanford University. Powell used his technological expertise to produce innovative boards and wheels designs for test rider Stacy Peralta to take the sport of skateboarding to the next level. The Bones Brigade skate team was created through the Powell Peralta brand and consisted of the best skateboarders of that era.
