Eventually they moved from Argentina to the rocking beaches of La Jolla, California, where Reef Mens Clothing was launched. Through their experience in the surfing industry the brothers set out with just a couple of thousand dollars and a goal to create the world’s best active flip flops and sandals. In the mid 90s, Reef Clothing had grown considerably and it was time to expand their operations, heading south on the beach a few miles to San Diego and were firmly established as a hot favorite for their flip flops and designs. The Reef closed-toe footwear and sandals range have made great strides, appealing to the entire active lifestyle market, now offering Reef Surfer Sandals, Reef Skater Shoes, Reef Snowboard footwear, as well as Reef Kite surfer and Reef Wake boarder inspired designs.

Though Reef Sandals started as a surf friendly company it has quickly become a fast companion to all active people. Venturing out from its home in the surf industry they are now popping up in extreme sports including Reef Skating, Reef Snowboarding and Reef Wakeboarding worlds. Reef Clothes now promotes active gear from Reef Boards and Reef Footwear to Reef Fashion Clothing as well. The Reef Womens Sandals began production in 1998 and in 2002 Reef also launched their surfwear range including Reef Hoodies, Reef T-shirts, Reef Caps, Reef Beanies, Reef Accessories in the Reef Mens and Reef Womens line as well as Reef Girls and Reef Guys line. With the success of the Reef Logo Program it afforded a swift move into a full-blown men's clothing line, which has been follows in 2008 by the first Reef women's clothing and Reef bikinis range.

Reef flip flops have always blended their passionate attitude of the beach life style with a commitment to building fashionable, surf inspired surf wear for dudes and lasses. Reef sandals inspiration comes from the world around us which they affectionately call Planet Reef. Planet Reef is a fusion of cool products, extreme sports, art, fashion and music as well as anything else they can get their hands on. The performance levels of their top athletes blow minds, cool music and an appreciation of the female form all drive their Brand identity. Never taking themselves too seriously they try to balance work and play and in doing so, hope they have built a really unique brand. Reef is very famous for their long running bikini girl advertisements starring many beach hotties!
