Wakeboard Helmets
Anyone who's ever caught their front edge and executed a perfect faceplant at speed into the water will tell you that falling while wakeboarding can be very painful and possibly dangerous without a specific wakeboard helmet. Designed to cushion the blow from repeated impacts as opposed to just the one high impact event a cycle helmet is designed to cope with the wakeboarding helmets are specialised for the sport. With water drainage systems as well as hardened outer shells to protect the lining and help with waterproofing the wakeboard helmets should be an indispensible piece of kit for anyone strapping on a board.

Getting the fit of your wakeboard helmet right is absolutely essential that’s why we wouldn’t recommend using another sport’s specific helmets for wakeboarding. The forces on impact and the way the head moves in a fall are different and the wakeboard helmets are specially designed to allow for this. As well as that, other non-specific helmets may not have adequate water drainage or waterproofing and the water could get in and weaken the foam that absorbs the impact rendering them less effective.
