Attack the dawnie in the Rip Curl Dawn Patrol Performance 5/3, a wetsuit that's well-equipped to handle the early-morning chill but still allows you the freedom to rip. The Performance Dawn Patrol is a pared-down, lower-bulk version of the standard Dawn Patrol, Rip Curl’s staple mid-range model. As such, it is geared slightly more towards flex and freedom of movement than warmth.

The main difference is the lack of thermal lining, which means less insulation on the one hand but less weight and more stretch on the other. Meanwhile the seams are less heavy-duty, a reduction in the amount of internal taping allowing the panels to stretch to their full potential. Other than that the two models (Dawn Patrol and Dawn Patrol Performance) are identical, and either way you end up with one of the best mid-range winter wetsuits on the market!
