ATH Documentary Premiere: Athens Skateboarding

Last Monday was the premiere of the ATH Documentary by the Greek film maker Costas Mandilas. The concept behind the ATH project is to show what it’s like to be skater in Athens; what the Athenians believe about the sport, where the best spots are and how the landscape has changed in 2014.

In ATH documentary you see the life on the streets of this modern and ancient city as well as hearing the thoughts of some of the best skateboarders in Greece. In 57 minutes, Costas tries to capture a part of the unknown character of the Greek skateboarding culture with old skaters who lived and saw Athens change. He also features young skateboarders, or “the fresh meat’’, who now explore this enigmatic city.
In the words of Kostas, ‘‘this city makes us stronger and more alive every day’’.
