To start with, Gwyn Haslock, you’re a ledge. Let’s not lose sight of that. But we’re not entirely sure what Land Rover has got to do with a surfing senior citizen. How’s an off-road beast relevant to Gwyn’s story? Maybe it’s some highly intelligent marketing and half of Surfdome HQ will be inspired to get a Land Rover on finance by the end of the week? We shall see. Anyway, putting the random wanderings of our mind aside, we are still thankful that Land Rover brought this magnificent lady to our attention.
Gwyn shows us what we can achieve if we harness the power of our passion and commit to it. Her love for the surf made her a pioneer of women’s surfing in the UK. She’s a massive inspiration for surfers and non-surfers alike. It goes to show it doesn’t matter how good you are or how old you are; all you’ve got to do is follow your heart, do what you love and enjoy it.
