Former editor of legendary Aussie surf mag Tracks, mainstay of the WSL commentary team at selected European Qualifying Series events, tireless seeker and chronicler of the truth, Ben Mondy is arguably the world’s foremost surf journalist based in Kent. With this in mind, we enlisted him to test and review a couple of surfboards at the Wave, Bristol. In this instalment of the Test Tub, he surfs a 5’10” Rocket Wide, one of Channel Islands Surfboards’ most popular models for the last few years. Fun waist-high runners, aka the Advanced setting, were the order of the day – bread and butter for the Rocket Wide.
