Some of you may know and some of you may not, but once a year Deus hosts an event filled with surfing, body surfing, film premieres and much more. Aptly named 9ft and single, due to the main focus being on the longboard contest, sees competitors jumping on classic single fin longboards and showing the world the art form that is log riding. Spanning over 4 days and held at Canggu in Bali, this mini surf festival is more than just an event, it’s a very chilled out celebration of wave riding in all It’s different forms.
The whole idea is very laid back, with the weekend open to locals, tourists and invited pro surfers. The guys from Swell were lucky enough to check it out and put together this nice little video for all of us that couldn’t make it to the other side of the world! Without giving too much away, the longboard riding in this clip is nothing short of spectacular. It shows that a style of surfing that has been pushed to the side for world competition riding, is still in full flow and thriving!
