If you’ve not heard about this Homegrown series from Gonzilla.tv already then allow us to introduce you to it. Starting about two weeks ago the series is a showcase of some of the best of British snowboarding talent and is something we can gladly get behind.
Showing the riders in the same indoor snowpark setting is great for comparing and contrasting what each has to offer. Their different styles are clear when looking at their vids and are perfect if you’re looking for a bit of inspiration for your next trip to an indoor park or if you’re one of the lucky ones heading off for a week of fluffy powder and slick lines.
It’s pointless trying to stay cool and calm when you see the effortlessly skilful little pops and grinds that the riders are throwing out on the rails and kickers. So far in the series we’ve seen, and shouted in jealous awe at, Ollie Dutton, Ross Needham and most recently Matt Higson at their best. These riders have already caught the eye of some top level sponsors with Forum snowboards and Special Blend taking on Needham, and Burton, Analog and Anon sponsoring both Higson and Dutton.
The engaging, informal style that the shorts are shot in really highlight the riders’ skills and make it easy to see why these guys stand out as some of the best the country has to offer. We can’t recommend it enough and the rest of the series is going to be something we look forward to every week from now on until it finishes!
