How to enjoy the ride.

How to enjoy the ride.

What if the products that you were buying to enjoy the mountains this winter were the very products that were causing damage to your favourite winter playgrounds? We want our customers to be able to wear the best gear for their adventures that are manufactured in a process that is not detrimental to the environment.

The Brands We Choose To Work With

We fully understand that our customers desire more sustainable products and are actively searching for this offering from brands. We are setting targets for the number of sustainable products in our overall offering with the view to help influence manufacturing, materials, processes and social responsibility in a positive direction.
Brands such as Volcom with their use of REPREVE fibres since 2012 has resulted in more than 10 million plastic bottles being recycled to have a second life in their products. Picture have pledged to fully remove the use of damaging PFC (perfluorinated chemicals) from their DWR treatments and every Lib Tech board is proudly made in the world’s most environmental board factory. Mervin uses better manufacturing practices that both protect the health of the craftsmen, but also that of the planet, leaving zero hazardous waste behind in production.
To make things easier, we created a sustainably focused gear listing to enable our customers to browse for more conscientious products with ease to help push forward the wider sustainability product agenda.

Our New Delivery Policy

We are working closely with the brands that we use to tackle the plastic they send. Our ‘Delivery Policy’ provides stipulations that reduce non-recyclable and non-biodegradable packaging. The policy acts as a best practice guide for packaging, using a traffic light system for each packaging element by outlining what won’t be accepted (Red), the minimum accepted standard (Amber), and preferred (Green).
The purpose of the delivery policy is to limit and eventually eliminate non-recyclable and non-biodegradable packaging from our processes. This is a unique approach and there’s hope that this will encourage sweeping changes.

Our New Warehouse

Not only can you shop guilt-free with our eco-friendly snow products and be safe in the knowledge that they will arrive on your doorstep in our recyclable packaging, but your order will also come from our warehouse that sits just outside the top 1% most sustainable buildings in the UK (using the BREEAM standard).
We are committed to 100% ‘natural’ renewable energy, only generated by the sun, wind and hydro, in all but one of the buildings that we operate from (the final building is a shared building) by October 2018.
It’s never been easier to shop sustainably!
