They seem to have special international days for everything now. But here is one that we can really get behind. June 20^th is International Surfing day. A day dedicated to spreading the good word about the culture and lifestyle that surrounds surfing, and of course encouraging people to try the sport itself. All over the world pros, amateurs and beach lovers who have never ventured onto a board will come together in celebration of the sport and have a good time.
There is a lot that can happen in the world in just one day of surfing. Surf filmmaker extraordinaire Taylor Steele thought so too so he created a project to engage the world of surfing in a single day of action. His film, Here and Now, was shot by several different teams all over the globe on the 2^nd of May this year. Some surfers featured in the video get some major waves, others get a ripple. That’s just surfing though isn’t it? Here’s a trailer for the film that’s going to be released on International Surfing Day.

Surfdome SeaStories Competition

We don’t know of any surfer out there who doesn’t love to tell stories about their best break or that one time that really awesome thing happened. So we’ve put together the Surfdome SeaStories competition to see what the best surfing story out there is.
With the average wave only lasting six seconds, it’s the memories of each one that keeps us surfers, searching for more! Share your best moments with the world (in 200 words or less) and not only will you help spread the love of the water that keeps us going when we’re stuck inland, but you could win an awesome prize. Starting from Monday the 18^th of June until Friday the 22^nd, we will be collecting your stories. On Monday the 25^th we will be telling one lucky surfer that they’ll be receiving a new model, Rip Curl E-Bomb Pro 3/2mm Wetsuit.
