Reykjavik is home to many things: 13 versions of Father Christmas, dried fish as an everyday snack (niche) and a sheep population that greatly outnumbers that of humans. And to top it all off, the Scandinavian capital of cool is also home to Lacoste’s new autumn/winter campaign ‘Unconventional Iceland‘.
Contrasting Iceland’s harsh elements with colourful pieces from their seasonal collection, Lacoste has given the world a greater insight into a country of inhospitable climates, fashion-forward design and polite eccentricities. Filmed to the background noise of Eurocentric electronica (of course), watch this beautifully haunting video for yourself.

Featuring two unconventional talents in the form of Gudmundur and Hulda, their attitude and lifsetyle mirrors the core message of Lacoste’s video. Gudmundur provides visual communication in his role as a graphic designer whilst crafting melody after melody as a twilight musician. Hulda, however, is a burgeoning model that experiments with photography and cinematics as her passion. Both very different people but united by their amiable Icelandic unconventionality.
Channel your very own Lacoste inspiration this season with music, photography and style straight from the heart of frosty Scandinavia. Surfdome: putting the cheer back in winter.
