Let’s get ready to scooter!!

Let’s get ready to scooter!!

Just when we thought the tricks and stunts of the skateboard had given it the spot as unquestioned king of park and street, the scooter has stepped up and has proven to be a worthy opponent. Although it has been around since the 1920s serving as a kid’s plaything, freestyle scootering has just recently revealed itself as a potential candidate for extreme sports. (Let’s just be clear, we’re not entirely sure whether it’s called scooting or scootering, but scootering sounds a lot more fun.)
In the UK alone, over 300,000 people are thought to be involved in this sport. Manchester locals Kyle Cropper and Archie Pratt shared a small video edit of their action on a Slamm Scooter. It’s hard to believe that as close as last year many of the stunts performed in this video by the boys were seen as too difficult to fully execute.

The kids are not alone; scootering is becoming more appealing to people way beyond the adolescent age group with more models and technicality to choose from to fit different requirements.

The Slamm Outbreak II scooter is ideal for those riders that are just mastering the basic skills of “scootering” and aiming to advance to some serious tricks. The spec of the one piece T bar has been improved, with a stronger quad stack and durable oversized headset bearing. The Slam Pro II scooter is highly recommended for those that are attempting back flips and triple tail whips. Though maybe that should be left to the professionals.
