JASON SALISBURY JOURNAL VOL. 1 from BANKS JOURNAL on Vimeo.
For us surfers – sunshine seekers and lovers of the sea alike – nothing quite beats rad looking threads that can stand the test of time as well as the harsh treatment that we throw at them in our quest to find solace in the swell. That’s why we’re introducing to you one of our new favourite brands here at Surfdome: Banks . And, the first drop of fresh goodies has arrived, just in time for you to get your sunshine fix this summer.
Based out of the ever-glorious Californian coast, Banks brings together some frickin’ ridiculously cool-looking gear with bags of retro flare, classic colour blocks and some slick stripes. With founders hailing from AUS, Japan and the US, including the legendary Brad Gerlach, Banks draws inspiration from countries and cultures from around the globe. Not happy with just creating incredible looking apparel, they’re also doing what they can to be as sustainable as possible…
Each and every single t-shirt is crafted using 100% organic cotton that is totally pesticide and insecticide free. The same goes for all of the fleece that Banks use. Plus, all woven labels on every garment are constructed with 100% recycled polyester and the swing tags on each item is made from recycled cardboard. Oh, and it doesn’t stop there: all of the polyester used in their board shorts range is recycled!
“THE BANKS MISSION IS TO MERGE STYLE AND UNDERSTATED FUNCTIONALITY WITH A SUSTAINABLE APPROACH TO DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT”
If, like us, you want to push yourself to the limits and shred through the sunny summer days, Banks won’t be letting you down any time soon…

B1 2mm Back Zip Wetsuit Jacket – Black
Keeping to the Banks ideology, the B1 Wetsuit Jacket not only looks sick with that certain, retro twist, but it also keeps you super warm. The B1 features critically taped seams that not only increase the durability of seams in high pressure areas but they also create a watertight seal, keeping you warmer for longer. And, in true Banks fashion, it has been crafted with recycled polyester.
