Skating videos are always popular in their exploration of technique and style, but rarely does a video place equal emphasis on skateboarding and the vibrant spectrum of life surrounding it. Sebastian Linda’s casual weeklong trip to Porto presented many opportunities for him to try out his new 5d camera. Shots of the pensive gaze of street cats and washing billowing in the wind intersperse with creative footage of skateboarders and surfers doing what they do best to great effect.
This piece is compelling not just because of Linda’s artistry, incredible lighting and extreme grading on the colour, but because he wholeheartedly embraced the intricacy of the life he saw on his travels.
