We sat down for an exclusive interview with Rowan Coultas to find out where he started, his passions, what inspires him and some of his favourite winter essentials from Oakley!
How did you get into snowboarding first of all?
I got into snowboarding basically because I saw it on tv and thought it looked really cool and I was kinda into skating to at the time.
What has it taken for you to get to the point where you are now?
It’s taken a lot, I moved to Austria with my family, basically left school, and just days and days of non-stop snowboarding.
How does the Olympics compare to other competitions have been in, does it feel any different?
I try not to think of it as being different, I just think of it as any other and I’m just gonna go do whatever my best run will be on the course.
Tell us about a regular day in the life of Rowan?
Regular day in the life for me when I’m at home is, wake up, look out the window for the weather, get ready for shredding, into the shop for a drink and snack, shred all day! Come down, make dinner, watch a film and then sleep.
What’s next for you? What’s do you have planned for the rest of 2018?
Rest of 2018 for me is gonna be chilled I think, I’ve been doing non-stop competitions for qualifying for the Olympics for the past 2/3 season so I really wanna chill and go for some fun slushy Park laps. And if any photo shoots come up I’ll head to them too.
