Mini mal surfboards (a.k.a. the mini malibu) get their name from the fact that they are in the same shape and structure as the longer 'Malibu' type boards. They are used by the widest number and range of wave-riders, in particular surfers who are out on the water to catch lots of waves and not have to paddle too hard to get them. They offer a great mix of stability in the water, speed, manoeuvrability, buoyancy and weight. Use one as a progression board before you move onto a shortboard as your skills progress.
